Chairman Li Yong was invited to Attend the Boao Forum for Asia 2019 Annual Council Working Meeting in Changsha

On October 15th, as a Senior Platinum Member of the Forum,the Chairman Li Yong was invited to attend the Boao Forum for Asia 2019 AnnualCouncil Working Meeting, which was held as scheduled in Changsha. The following people attended the meeting: Chairman of Boao Forum for Asia Ban Ki-moon,Deputy Chairman Zhou Xiaochuan, Secretary General Li Baodong, Executive Deputy Governor of Hainan Province Mao Chaofeng, and Forum members Former President of the Philippines Arroyo, Former Prime Minister of Pakistan Aziz, Former USSecretary of Commerce Gutierrez, Former European Commission President Prodi,Former Prime Minister of Thailand Suraj, Former Prime Minister of New ZealandShipley, etc.

The Chairman Ban Ki-moon presided over the meeting and Secretary General Li Baodong made a work report. The council members attending the meeting fully affirmed the Secretary General’s work report and appreciated the active work of the Secretariat and the important results achieved. The meeting focused on in-depthdiscussions on the theme of the annual conference 2020 and the economic situation in the world.

After the meeting, the Chairman Li Yong also visited Hunan Provincial Museum andZhangjiajie with all the directors who came to Hunan to attend the Boao Forum for Asia 2019 Annual Council Working Meeting. At the Hunan Provincial Museum,the Chairman Li Yong marveled at the exquisite cultural relics such as bronzes with unique characteristics, the surviving millennium Qin Dujian (the Bamboo Slip for writing in Qin Dynasty (221 BC - 207 BC)), and various costumes unearthed from the tomb of Madam Xinzhui in Ma Wangdui; In Zhangjiajie,Chairman Li Yong not only visited the strange scenery, but also posed a group photo with the 8th UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, former EU President Prodi,former Thai Prime Minister Suraj, former US Secretary of Commerce Guterres, and the CPPCC Vice Chairman Zhou Xiaochuan, Secretary-General of Boao Forum for Asia Li Baodong, Vice Chairman of the Hunan Provincial Committee of the CPPCCDai Daojin, and Zhang Jiajie Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee Guo Zhenggui.
