2023-11-17

The ninth round of the two-day dialogue between Sino-Japanese entrepreneurs and former high-ranking officials concluded on the 15th in Tokyo, Japan. Chairman Mr. Li Yong was invited to attend and give an important speech. The governments of both China and Japan attach great importance to this event. Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and former Vice Premier of the State Council of China, Zeng Peiyan, delivered video speeches respectively. Former Japanese Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda attended the dialogue and delivered a speech, too. At the luncheon, Chinese Ambassador to Japan Wu Jianghao also gave a brilliant keynote speech. The meeting emphasized the need for both China and Japan to deepen cooperation, jointly meet challenges, and contribute to building a Sino-Japan relationship that meets the requirements of the new era.

Chairman Li Yong pointed out in his speech that low-carbon, environmental protection, and sustainable development have become a global consensus and development direction with the intensification of global climate change and the increasingly prominent environmental issues. Under the background of the "dual carbon" goal, green finance has enormous potential and role, which can help promote sustainable development of the global economy. However, the development of green finance still faces some challenges and problems, which require countries to formulate corresponding policies and mechanisms to promote its development. Future research should continue to delve into the application and development of green finance in the field of "dual carbon", providing more support and reference for sustainable global economic development.

This year witnesses the 45th anniversary of the signing of the Sino-Japanese Treaty of Peace and Friendship. Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida said in a video speech that economic exchanges have become the cornerstone of Sino-Japan relations in the past 45 years, and he looks forward to promoting more specific cooperation projects through this dialogue. The dialogue between Sino-Japanese entrepreneurs and former high-ranking officials is jointly organized by China International Economic Exchange Center and Japan Federation of Economic Organizations. Eight rounds have been held in Tokyo and Beijing since the first round of dialogue was held in Tokyo in November 2015.

During the meeting, Chairman Li Yong also had in-depth discussions and jointly planned for cooperation with Chinese and Japanese entrepreneurs and former high-ranking officials attending the dialogue, and reached a broad consensus. Especially when meeting again with the old friend, former Japanese Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda, he recalled the scenes where both had met many times at the Boao Forum for Asia. They had a great conversation and were particularly friendly.
